![]() I founded a new team dedicated solely to hacking the native side of the vita, codenamed Project Mayhem and eventually named “team mayh3m.” Around July of this year, I returned to the scene after a while’s absence and decided to dedicate myself to webkit. Well you may all be in for some good news. Shortly ago Acid_Snake posted about the state of the Vita scene, calling to the forefront yifan’s recommendations to go after webkit. CodeLion’s post will be mostly targeted to those with enough knowledge who are interesting in helping the cause so you can know where we’re at and what is needed. Sadly, we found out (don’t ask us how) that Sony will updating webkit to a version that is invulnerable to our exploit, which means it will not be usable in later firmwares. Soon enough, he found an entry point and has been developing it for a while. ![]() His name is CodeLion, known as bballing1 in /talk.ĬodeLion has never been a big name within this scene, but he has been a member of the team for quite a while, and after dealing with life for a while, he came back a few months ago motivated enough to start development on webkit exploits. Also I think I caught a glimpse of SPS sometimes, though it could have been geometry popping into existence at extreme camera angles. But it’s not gonna be me who will talk about it, I’m gonna handle it to a team member that’s been a strong pillar in our quest for native vita code execution. Terminator - Dawn of Fate has some minor graphical corruption, a bit of texture flicker from time to time and base on different camera angles. Also, the audio in the background, behind the grey screen, sounds scratchy and slow, I think there might be severe performance issues even if you could get the visuals to work. SWAT - Global Strike Team has major graphical issues, the screen goes completely grey when you first start a mission. These problems go away when the camera gets close enough. Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver 2 also has minor graphical issues, in that characters far away from the camera - such as your own character, Raziel - have quite a bit of graphics corruption on them, seemingly like a weird dithered transparency issues. PCSX2 has an EE patch for this, I'm going to mess around with ps2dis and see if I can't translate the EE patch to EmuMediaPatch What makes this unplayable is a progress-blocking glitch preventing you from opening the first door in the first area of the game. Ghost in the Shell: SAC has some minor graphical issues, mostly heavy aliasing on character models despite running 2x2 uprender. Nothing major but it's there.įIFA Street 2 has some graphical corruption on the preview photo of the stage/arena you select to play in. The only "major" issue with the corrupted menus is that you can't tell which car manufacturer you're choosing until you select it and see the cars themselves.ĭeus Ex has some very minor graphical glitches, a slight flicker to some light sourcing and a pseudo-transparent square at the end of firearms. It's rare to see games be that demanding, especially for 2D sprite-based games, I've played Soul Calibur titles that don't push the emulator as hardĪuto Modelista's menus are all kinds of screwy corrupt, if it wasn't for the fact that every option has a verbose description at the bottom of the screen, you wouldn't be able to navigate the menus at all. Oh and I checked out Alpha/Vampire on PCSX2, just for the sake of it, and the GS usage was insane! 60-90% GS usage during play. Probably more that I've forgotten to do writeups on. I realise I've been neglecting to keep THIS status thread updated too, sorry! So far I've tested and confirmed working, with or without fixes, 120 titles. Plus the previously tested and confirmed Silent Hill 3 + Silent Hill 2 DC (honestly, it's 99% fine, just some minor FMV audio stutter) I think I need to go through my wiki additions and make a mega-post in here listing working games. Urban Chaos (terrible framerate, probably <50% speed) (ignore the commented code, it's just easier to keep everything in one config file for swapping between games )ĭrakengard 1 (terrible framerate, <50% speed, audio crackle)ĭrakengard 2 (fine performance, missing graphics on some NPCs, no dragon wings, and also invisible objective items)
